ElectricDrift kart
AMPLAB makes fun electric stuff, and this is the first one. A full-size electric kart made for going sideways, with 5 kW peak, a live rear axle, a hydraulic disc brake and a vertical handbrake to start and hold a slide.

Built to slide
AMPLAB is an Australian brand of fun electric machines, and the Drift Kart is the first. It has a low, wide high-carbon steel tube chassis, a 5 kW peak mid-mounted motor driving a live rear axle, a hydraulic disc brake and a vertical handbrake for starting and holding a slide.
A 60V LiFePO4 pack with CATL cells gives it around 60 km between charges. Plug it in overnight and it's ready to go again in the morning.
Indoors and out
Set up for polished concrete and sealed outdoor surfaces alike.
150 kg load rating
Built for adult riders, with a maximum load of 150 kg.
Five colours
Frame available in red, black, white, blue or purple.
What's on it
- 1
Widened rear wing
Racing-style rear wing on drilled steel uprights for stability at speed.
- 2
Battery box
60V 30Ah LiFePO4 pack with CATL cells in a steel case behind the seat.
- 3
Gearbox motor
2.5 kW rated, 5 kW peak, mid-mounted for traction, climbing and heavy loads.
- 4
Moulded seat
Deep bucket seat that holds you in place when the rear steps out.
- 5
Racing steering wheel
Hollow racing wheel with an AMPLAB centre and an LCD dash on the column.
- 6
Hollow pedals
Anti-slip accelerator and brake pedals with linear, predictable response.
- 7
Disc brake
Alloy opposed caliper on a drilled, ventilated disc for strong linear braking.
- 8
Steel tube chassis
High-carbon steel frame with a full-width front bumper and cut-out floor pans.
- 9
Alloy bearing flanges

Can't see your question here? Ask it in the form below.
Where can I ride it?
On private property, tracks and venues. It's set up for polished concrete indoors and sealed surfaces outdoors. Check local rules before riding anywhere other than private land.
Is it road legal?
No. The AMPLAB Drift Kart is built for private property, tracks and venues, and isn't for use on public roads.
How far does a charge go?
Around 60 km per charge from the 60V 30Ah LiFePO4 pack. A full charge takes 6 to 7 hours, so it's ready again by morning.
Can adults ride it?
Yes. It is built for adult riders, with a maximum load of 150 kg including the rider.
What safety gear do I need?
Wear a helmet and protective gear every time you ride, and keep the area clear of people and obstacles.
How does it arrive?
Each kart ships in a timber crate on skids, 166 x 106 x 47 cm and 35 kg, ready for forklift handling.
